Ahhh, Summer!

Woo hoo, thumbs up for summertime! Jon's little sister is here for the week to get her mind off everything that's happened at home. Jon took Monday off work (he seems to have this disease, some form of Monday-itis, quite crippling) so we decided to all go to the public pool! We had lots of fun, and of course Molly did too. She was shivering most of the time but she still wanted to splash and play! She's SUCH a brave little girl, scooting off the edge to Daddy or Jolene's outstretched arms. The only "bad" thing was the baby pool was soooo slippery on the bottom! The girl could NOT get her footing whatso ever and took a couple good dunks. They startled her but other than that she's just fine. We took TONS of pictures and I'll share a few of my favorite here for all of you to see.

Walgreen's

Finally made it out for a Walgreen's run yesterday. I fully expected them to be out of everything worth while, I mean it's a heavily couponed area and it was already Tuesday, 3 days into the sales. I was pleasantly surprised though finding enough of everything I needed to roll my RR's. First transaction went like this:

8 jars Ragu pasta sauce 2/$4
1 St. Ives Oatmeal Scrub body wash $2.99
1 Rolaids soft chew 18 ct Cherry $2.99
3 Right Guard Deodorants $2.99/each
3 Butterfinger Buzz candies $ .42/each
SUBTOTAL $32.21

Coupons used
3- .60/2 Ragu sauce
1- 1.50 St. Ives
1- 1.00 Rolaids
3- 1.00 Right Guard
and $6 for Wags Ad Q for .99 Right Guard (scan once, takes $2 off each Right Guard)
AFTER COUPONS $18.91

Paid with
4- $2 RR's
1- $10 RR
and 1.51 on a Wags gift card
TOTAL $19.51

Earned
$8 RR WYB 8 Ragu/Skippy/Hellman's
$3 RR for St. Ives
$2 RR for Rolaid's
TOTAL EARNED $13

NOTE: I had to buy the Butterfinger as a filler for my transaction. A filler is used when you have more coupons than items. The register will only accept enough coupons for which you have items for. Without the filler I would only have been able to use 2 of the RR's to pay, instead of the 5 because RR's are manufactuer's coupons. It doesn't matter how much or how little your filler costs it just needs to be there so the coupon can "attach" itself, so the cheapest item in the store makes a perfect filler.

I then went back for a second transaction:

Bought
3 Walgreens Reusable Shopping bags .99/each
3 John Freida Root Awakening hair care products 3/$15
1 St. Ives Oatmeal body scrub $2.99
SUBTOTAL $20.96

Coupons
3- 3.00 off John Freida
1- 1.50 St. Ives
and 1.95 for Wags Ad Q making bags 3/$1
AFTER COUPONS $8.51

Paid
$8 RR from Ragu
$1.77 on Wags gift card (1.28 was tax)
TOTAL $9.77

Earned
$5 RR WYB 3 John Frieda Root Awakening Products
$3 RR for St. Ives
TOTAL EARNED $8

Today's Bargains

So, someone (*cough*Christine*cough*) suggested that I keep up on my blog again and post about my daily exploits in the coupon world. So today was an awesome Target run, got 6 Glade Fabric and Air Refreshers, 8 Glade Scented Candle Tins, 1 2-pack of SoftSoap bodywash, and 1 2-pack of Irish Spring bodywash for $4.76 OOP (out of pocket). Not going to lie, that felt REALLY good! After being out of the swing of things for a couple of weeks what with school and then Jon's dad's passing it was a much needed bargain run. I'm also going to detail my transaction for any of you who are wondering "How?"

6 Glade Fabric and Air Refreshers @ $2.99/each
8 Glade Scented Oil Tins @ $1.67/each
1 2-pack SoftSoap Bodywash @ $6
1 2-pack Irish Spring Bodywash @ $6
SUBTOTAL= $43.30

Used 6 $2 TARGET coupon for Glade Fabric and Air = $12
2 $1 TARGET coupon for Irish Spring and Softsoap = $2
1 $1 Manu. coupon for Softsoap bodywash =$1
1 $1.50 Manu. coupon for Irish Spring = $1.50
8 $1.50 Manu. coupon for Glade Oil Tin = $12
also used 2 BOGO free Glade Fabric and Air, which actually bound to the WRONG Glade item and only scanned for $1.67, but I caught it so she scanned each coupon twice (it said free up to $4.29, so $3.34 is still under) for a total of $6.68 off on those coupons.
TOTAL AFTER COUPONS= $8.12

Paid with a $5 Target gift card because the Softsoap/Irish Spring deal is buy $2 get a $5 giftcard so I "rolled" by one gift card into another.
TOTAL OOP= $3.12 +tax and get back a $5 Target gift card.

I was TOTALLY psyched for this run! Hopefully I can get to Wags and CVS tomorrow for another Pampers deal (CVS, will post deal later) and the Dove RR deal at Wags.
